Service Description

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion. Allow approximately 2 hours 10 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for two years. Learning Objectives ■ Describe how to recognize an emergency and gain confidence to act. ■ Explain how to lower the risk for infection when giving care. ■ Understand legal concepts as they apply to lay responders, such as consent. ■ Describe the emergency action steps: CHECK—CALL—CARE. ■ Identify when it is necessary to call 9-1-1 or the designated emergency number. ■ Explain how to check an injured or ill person who appears to be unresponsive. ■ Explain how to check a responsive injured or ill person. ■ Demonstrate high-quality CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) for a person who is in cardiac arrest. ■ Demonstrate first aid care for a person who is choking.


Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are dealt with on a individual basis by emailing hellersafetysolutions@gmail.com. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice receive no refund, but they may reschedule for a future class offered by Heller Safety Solutions. Cancellations with 3-7 days notice may receive a 50% refund, or they may reschedule for a future class offered by Heller Safety Solutions. Cancellations with more than 8 days notice may receive a full refund, or they may reschedule for a future class. For rescheduling, note that not all classes are offered on a regular basis. Refunds are not available for those who do not complete the online portion of blended learning classes prior to class. Online module technical issues must be addressed directly to the Red Cross by calling 1-800-red-cros and asking to speak to Support.
